Behind the Scenes: How BALL TABLE Was Born

The idea for BALL TABLE was born, like a lot of good things, out of something that fell apart. An old table with a cracked leg was sitting in the studio, and someone asked — why does a table leg have to be straight?

The first spherical leg was turned from oak in one long all-nighter. It was too heavy. The second — too light, and the table wobbled. It took eight months and nineteen spheres to land on the right diameter.

Today every leg is still turned individually, and each table has wood rings that never repeat. That’s not a flaw. That’s the signature.
